Miriam is passionate about food and health. As a qualified and experienced nutritional therapist (BSc) she knows that improving the quality of an individual’s nutrition makes a profound and transformative difference to their health and consequently their life.

When working with her patients she uses scientific knowledge and research-based evidence as the foundation of her practice. Together she combines this with a holistic and naturopathic understanding of health and food. She develops programmes that effectively target the goals and underlying health concerns of the patient, and which incorporate the medicinal benefits of food while also ensuring meals are tasty and enjoyable.

Miriam uses nutrition as a therapeutic tool to deal with a wide range of conditions including:

  • Hormonal imbalance (adrenal fatigue and female-hormonal issues).
  • Digestive disorders (irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease).
  • Immune-related dysfunction (allergies, auto-immune conditions, compromised immune function).

She is also a trained ‘Metabolic Balance’ coach. This is a highly effective weight loss system that has also proven to be hugely beneficial to those with hormonal imbalances, digestive disorders, autoimmune conditions as well as a wide range of other ailments.

Miriam has recently combined her love of nutrition and cooking to move into medicinal cooking. She currently is part of a team who are providing restorative nature retreats for NHS keyworkers. Her role is to provide nourishing and replenishing meals, teas and juices that support the wellbeing of the participants.

Prior to coming to the Maris Practice Miriam has worked in both the private and corporate sector in both London and Zurich.
