BA Hons RN IBCLC – Breastfeeding Counsellor
Liz Lambourn is a Registered Nurse and qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor in 1996 with the National Childbirth Trust after the birth of her second child. She qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2006, and also holds a Diploma of Higher education in breastfeeding counselling from the University of Bedfordshire. Liz won the NCT Stars London ‘Practitioner of the Year’ Award 2017.
She loves meeting and helping mums through all stages of breastfeeding and receives excellent feedback from parents. She has significant experience of supporting mothers in the immediate postnatal period whilst working as a breastfeeding counsellor at the West Middlesex hospital for the past 12 years, and has a special interest in supporting mums whose babies have had a difficult start to life. She also facilitates antenatal breastfeeding classes for the NCT, and enjoys running a number of local breastfeeding drop-ins.
She is available for one-to-one consultations at the Maris Practice, including weekends, where mums experiencing problems with breastfeeding at any stage, can explore their concerns and discuss their options. Home visits can also be arranged if preferred.
