Alison Gatt offers personalised Nutrition and Health Coaching

“Never under-estimate the body’s ability to heal itself with the right ingredients”

Alison started her career in linguistics having gained a BA(Hons) degree in languages. She subsequently worked in the travel business for 20 years.

Through her travels she discovered the benefits and healing powers of simple foods and ingredients which local people used as natural medicines. Her fascination for healing from the inside-out began in these remote places.

This, together with her own health being impacted by stress and lifestyle back in the modern world, prompted her to take action. Alison went on to study Nutritional Therapy at the Institute for Optimum Nutritional (ION) and the University of West London, where she qualified in 2012 with a degree in Nutritional Therapy (BSc).

She focuses on stress related health issues which are often manifested in weight gain, fatigue, cholesterol problems and heart disease, as well as hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, and auto-immune diseases.

Food and emotions are so closely linked, that the Nutritional Therapy has to be enjoyable with a long-lasting impact. Since every client has his/her own story, genetics, lifestyle and diet, Alison supports her clients over a minimum period of three months, to accommodate these factors in a considered way.

When she became a mother, she embraced a new role. She realised that looking after herself ,as well as giving her son the nutritious building blocks to thrive, was not as easy as she thought it might be. This has become a key focus for her.

She loves working with mothers giving them guidance on how foods could positively impact behaviour and emotions, as well as health.

Alison is a passionate advocate of good nutrition, and helping people to help themselves. She is always looking for opportunities to share positive stories to inspire and encourage others. She has previously appeared on television to reinforce the important role nutrition can play.

Alison has also trained as a Metabolic Balance Coach (2012), a diet and lifestyle programme by which she lives.

She is also a member of British Association for Nutritional Therapy and is registered with the UK regulatory body the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
