DESCRIPTION:Developed by 'The Minded Institute'\, this 8-week yoga therapy 
 course\, is a comprehensive and evidence-based program for anyone looking 
 to better manage stress\, anxiety and/or depression\, on a day-to-day basi
 s.\n\nThis course is being led by our yoga therapist\, Sammie Mason.\n​\
 nBoth mindfulness and therapeutic yoga are well known for their mental hea
 lth benefits\, reducing anxiety\, depression and negative affect\, this c
 ourse will help you access these profound healing properties. Combining sp
 ecific yoga therapy techniques\, with research from the fields of psychot
 herapy and neuroscience\, it will provide you with a tool box of self-reg
 ulation techniques that you can use on a daily basis to better manage and 
 help to improve your mental health both on a short-term and life long bas
 is.\n​Course structure\nWe meet once a week for two hours over an 8-week
  period. Each week has a theme which is explained and explored through pra
 ctice. This includes a 1 hour and 10 minute yoga practice\, breath work\, 
 mindfulness\, meditation\, relaxation self-inquiry and discussion. During 
 the first two weeks of the course\, we focus on regulating breath as a mod
 e to alter the functioning of your nervous system so that you can manage s
 tress with greater ease.\n\nFrom weeks 3 – 5 we concentrate on the relat
 ionship between body and mood and in weeks 6 – 8 we focus specifically o
 n\nthe mind.\n\nAs with most things the best results come with practice. E
 ach week you will be given a home practice which you will be supported and
  encouraged to do\, encouraging the positive change that you wish to see.\
 n​\nTo support your practice the course also provides:\n\n 	A comprehens
 ive course manual with detailed explanations of mind body connection\, res
 earch and practice descriptions\,\n 	Audio recordings of practices taught\
 ,\n 	Email support throughout the 8 weeks concerning any course related qu
 estions or queries.\n\n​How is this course different from other courses 
 for emotional healing?\nUsually courses will focus on just the mind and/or
  just the body as a way to enhance mental well-being. The 8-week yoga the
 rapy course works on the understanding that the most effective way to enco
 urage long-term transformation is by focusing on the entire person\, body
  and mind.\nIs this course for me?\nThis course is open to anyone who wish
 es to take a positive step towards better managing their experience of anx
 iety\, stress or depression\, with a long-term view of making life-long c
 hange.\n\nNo previous experience of yoga is necessary\, just a commitment 
 to show up and do the home practice to fully benefit from its offering.\n
 \nThis course is unsuitable for people currently experiencing psychosis\, 
 PTSD\, bipolar disorder\, schizophrenia\, eating disorders\, those suffer
 ing from suicidal thoughts or chronic fatigue (ME).\n​Course dates 2023\
