Joanna Knap qualified as a NCT breastfeeding counsellor in 1996, and has supported mums as a volunteer for the NCT for over 20 years, as well as within the NHS, including running workshops for NHS staff and in private practice. In 2006, Joanna qualified as an IBCLC, and in 2009, she trained at Southampton General Hospital and became qualified to carry out infant tongue-tie divisions. She set up and ran an NHS Tongue-tie Clinic in a west London hospital and subsequently helped to set up a similar service in another NHS hospital. She has had extensive experience in carrying out this procedure.

Joanna regularly teaches antenatal breastfeeding classes in south-west London, works at two weekly Breastfeeding Drop-Ins in north London and south-west London and continues to support parents as an NCT volunteer.
